Rev. David H. Aldridge

Rev. David Harold Aldridge, 64, of Stevenson, AL formerly of Waycross died Monday (June 11, 2007) at Southwest Christian Hospice in Union City, GA after a short illness.

He was born November 14, 1942 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Wilbur C. Aldridge and Monia Carter Aldridge. Rev. Aldridge graduated from Englewood High School in Jacksonville, FL in 1960. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy where he spent two years serving his country and graduated from the Aviation Electronics School in Memphis, TN and later worked at the Jacksonville Naval Air Station in Aviation Electronics. He served as Pastor at the Raybon Advent Christian Church in Nahunta from 1990 - 1997. Rev. Aldridge served in Stevenson, AL since 1998 where he was the pastor of Stevenson Advent Christian Church until April, 2007. While he was serving his church in Stevenson, Rev. Aldridge was the President of the Alabama Conference of Advent Christian Churches, he organized a AANA Group and a Men's Prayer Breakfast. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Sgt. 1st Class Morris L. Aldridge.

Survivors include his daughter, Teresa Renee Light (husband Gary), Saltillo, MS, three grandchildren, Suzanne Spearman (husband Blake), Sarah Light, Zachary Light, two great-grandchildren, Isabella and Alexander Spearman, all of Saltillo, MS; four sisters, Hazel Combs, Tallahassee, FL, Kathy Patterson, Jacksonville, FL, Louvenia Essex (husband Don), McDonough, GA, Clara Lance (husband Johnny), Jacksonville, FL, one brother, Billy Aldridge, Archer, FL, many nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

A funeral service will be held Friday morning at 11:00 am at New Hope Advent Christian Church. Burial will follow in Thomas Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home.
