Constance (Connie) Joan (Sedam) Cerveny of York, age 77, passed away Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019 at Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg. Connie was born October 22, 1941 in Pawnee City, Nebraska to Loren Calvin and Leila (Martin) Sedam.

Connie was first married to Frank Long, to this couple two boys were born, Jim and Michael (Ed). Due to divorce and hard times, the two boys were given up for adoption for a better life. She was reunited with her son Ed on September 21, 2017.

Connie married Robert Cerveny on July 21, 1961 at a quaint country church outside of Kramer, Nebraska. To this couple five children were born. They resided in Hallam, Friend, Geneva, and Osceola, before settling in York.

She worked as a waitress at a cafe in Geneva, as a nurse aide at Good Samaritan in Osceola, a nurse aide at Hearthstone in York, and as a stay at home mother. She enjoyed her "cold" coffee, playing Bingo, and spending time with her best friend Donna Cole of Osceola, and she was a great cook.

Connie is survived by her children: sons Ed Bauer of Valley and Wesley (Lisa) Cerveny of Henderson, daughters: Teresa (Todd) Willcock, Kim (Kevin) Lammers, and Susan (Jim) Stearns, all of York; siblings: Pheryl Clarence, Kathy and Harry Emmel, Jim and Cheryl Sedam, Rick Sedam, all of Omaha; grandchildren: Rob (Teresa) Crawford of York, Andy Bauer of Valley, NE, Brittany, Kirsten, Jordyn and Brooklyn Stearns, Ashley and Brian Davis, Tony and Taylor Willcock, all of York, Tierney (Paul) Clouse, of Fort Carson, Colorado, Aaron (Lizz) Koehn, of Omaha, Kirstin Koehn of Lincoln, and Cynthia Cerveny of Henderson, as well as 17 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Cerveny, her daughter Cindy (Cerveny) Crawford, and her parents.

Special thanks to staff at Midwest Covenant Home and Tabitha Hospice.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 26, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in York with Aaron Phillips officiating. Cremation. No viewing or visitation. Her family will greet friends after services in the Fellowship Hall at the church. Private family inurnment to be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to her family for later designation.
