Lloyd Raymond Long, age 70 of Decherd, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2019, at his residence surrounded by his loving family and friends.

A native of Franklin County, he was born on September 12, 1948 in Winchester to the late Lloyd “Dean” Palmer and Ruby Anna Mae (Partin) Long. Lloyd was a farmer, a teacher of building trades and industrial arts, as well as a master craftsman and owner of The Carpenter Shop where he had built custom cabinets, furniture, and Clinging Crosses for the last twenty years. Lloyd was a hard working family man with a sweet, gentle, and kind personality, and he never met a stranger. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Jesus of Winchester.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Dana Elizabeth Lowhorn Long of Decherd; daughter, Wendy Long of Decherd; and son, Kelly Long of Decherd; sister, Sylvia (Kelton) Garner of Normandy; and grandchildren, Natalia Long and William Dean Long.

Visitation will be from 5-8pm Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, April 25, 2019, in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Pastor Mark Turner officiating.

Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his church, The Pentecostal Church of Jesus, 383 Lockmiller Road, Winchester, TN 37398, or Gideons International.
