Melvin Revelli Edwards of Ringgold, 81, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, April 20, 2019. He was born on May 1, 1937 in Fort McClellan, AL. Melvin was a devoted husband and father. He served 54 years in the Catoosa County School System as principal of Ringgold Junior High School and member of the Catoosa County School Board. He served the Mount Pisgah community as a member and deacon of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester Roy and Annabelle Campbell Edwards; and siblings, Mildred Turner, Roy Edwards, JD Edwards and Eleanor Satterfield.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years Janice Brown Edwards; daughters, Evonne (Chuck) Hackett of Ringgold and Terri (Tim) Abel of Virginia Beach; sons, Mel (Joan) Edwards of Ringgold and Alan (Marlo) Edwards of Orlando, FL. His legacy also includes 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Neal Grimes officiating. The family will have a private graveside ceremony.
Family will receive friends 4-8 PM Tuesday and 10-11 AM Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway
