Larry was born January 28, 1930 to Lawrence Love Parker Sr. And Rachel Rebecca "Howard" Parker. The first of three children, his sister Rachel Imogene was second and then William Thomas. His father was a dry land farmer and while the family was young they moved from the sand hills of Hardeman County to the red clay of Taylor County Texas. After World War II Lawrence moved them to California because of job opportunities.
