She was born in New Brighton, PA on Sept. 28, 1930, a daughter of the late Homer and Jane (Welsh) Rose.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl B. Young, Sr.; two sons Joe Smitha and James William Thompson; two daughters Sharen R. Stanley and Linda Moore; four grandchildren; one great-grea grandson; adoptive parents Harry and Louzanie Sumner; and brother Ervin Rose.
She is survived by her son Carl “Youngen” Young, Jr. of Midland; two daughters, Barbara Ours of East Liverpool and Shirley Wooley of Hammondsville; fourteen grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and 40 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from Monday evening 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday afternoon and evening 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Dawson funeral Home. Evangelist Will Montgomery of St. Clair Avenue Church of Christ will conduct a funeral service Wednesday at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow in Longs Run Church Cemetery.
