Emma dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and joined the Mount Olievia Missionary Baptist Church. She served as the Junior Usher Board Advisor and a member of the Missionary Society. Emma was a faithful and dedicated Deaconess until her health failed.
Emma was united in Holy Matrimony to William N. Finley, Jr., on October 3, 1954. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marie King, and brothers, Colis, Walker, Jr., and Eddie Fort.
While many will remember Emma for a number of reasons, it is certain we will all remember her sense of STYLE! She was always beautifully dressed. She was an excellent cook and as a guest in her home, you were treated like family.
She leaves to cherish her memories: sons, Kerry (Tanya) Finley, Tallahassee, Florida, and William (Donna) Finley, Jr., Tallahassee, Florida; daughter, Regina (Erroll) Hines, Kingwood, Texas; brothers, Joseph (Concettia) Fort, Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Willie Fort, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Tony Fort, Muscle Shoals, Alabama; sisters, Betty Fort, Tuscumbia, Alabama, Dorothy Malone, Tuscumbia, Alabama, Joyce (Willie) Hodges, Lynwood, Illinois; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; devoted friends, Louise Hyler, Gernice Ricks, and Barbara Hyatt; a host of relatives, friends, and her Mt. Olievia Church Family.
