Services will be held in Portland, OR for William John Stender, 63, of Hemet and Portland, who died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Burial will be in Skyline Memorial Gardens, Portland. McWane Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr Stender was born November 28, 1923 in New Germany, MN. He had been a winter visitor in Hemet for the last two months. For 37 years he worked as an assistant terminal superintendent with the Burlington Northern Railroad.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret C, three sons, John William of Pinewood, MN, the Rev James Donald Stender of Indianapolis, Robert Dean Stender of Gillette Wy; two daughters Susan Ziehler of Hillsboro, OR, and Kristy Ann Stender of Nome, AK; 10 grandchildren, and a brother Aldon Stender of Wayzata, MN
