She was a long time resident of the Grande Prairie/Debolt area. Vicki was born in Calgary, Alberta the third daughter of Martha and Charles Kimmett. She and four of her sisters moved to the Dimsdale area in 1961 when Martha married Alf Head. Another sister was born. She loved growing up on the farm. Vicki was popular and a good student, very involved in athletics and student government. She attended college in Gilroy, California and Grande Prairie, Alberta and the University of Alberta studying Fine Arts graduating with her Bachelor of Education. Vicki travelled the world and while travelling, met Bob Ballard, a California native. They married in 1974 and had 2 sons, Quinn (1975) and Nathan (1979). They ultimately made their home in Debolt and ran an Apiary until separating in 2015. Vicki taught for many years in the Grande Prairie and Ridge Valley school districts and recently spent most of her teaching days at Sexsmith Secondary. She was well loved by her colleagues, her students, and her community. She was incredibly generous and genuine and always had time for people. People often commented on her big laugh-she found real joy in life-she loved children, animals, nature and the escape of a well-written book. She was a tower of strength. She lived her life with dignity.

Vicki is predeceased by her mother Martha Head (2014), her father Charles Kimmett (1959), her dad Alf Head (1978), and her nephew John Arlo Humble (2009).

Vicki will be immensely missed by her sons, Quinn (Tiffany) of Sacramento, CA, Nathan (Shandra) of Edmonton, grandsons Asher and Emmett of Sacramento, her sisters Velvet Davies (Wayne) of Grande Prairie, Valerie Kimmett of Mill Bay, BC, Ginny Kimmett of Telkwa, BC, Veronica Kimmett (Andrew Young) of Terrace, BC and Laurie Head(Dave Francis) of Coquitlam, BC, her nieces and nephews Jessie Davies, Grace Davies (Marc Soetaert) Lee Davies, Charlotte Brain (Justin Brain), Ellen Christison (Jeff Rushton), Vanessa Humble (Chase Hawkes) and Luke Francis, great nieces and nephews Trussan, Trentan, Marek, Caelum, Beckett, Leita, Mason, Hailey, Ella, Keiran and Owen and her aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
