FISHERSVILLE, Va. The Lord called Nicholas "Nick" Harold Ott, 26, home on Monday, April 8, 2019, following a single vehicle accident in Cowan's Gap, Fulton County, Pa. Nick had been residing in his new home in Augusta County. Born in Pinellas County, Florida, on August 4, 1992, to Gregory F. Ott and Jane M. Ott (Weideli), Nick and his family moved to Augusta County in 1994.

Nicholas was the grandson of Mary Jane Weideli and the late Harold Weideli Jr. of New Jersey. Paternal grandparents were the late Janvier F. Ott and Lourene W. Ott of Pa.

He is survived by his loving siblings, Megan Garrison (Cory) of Aldie, Caitlin Perry (Chase) of Lexington, Jennie Cassel (Ryan) of Aldie, Christopher of Harrisonburg, and Courtney of Harrisonburg. Cory, Chase and Ryan were like brothers to Nick.

Nicholas was a fantastic uncle to his three nieces and a nephew, Vivian Garrison, Beck Garrison, Sadie Garrison and Eleanor Perry. He also leaves behind several special uncles and aunts, Jim and Susan Weideli of Bridgewater, N.J., Jon and Mary Anne Barlow of Waynesboro, Paul and Susan Radosta of Williamsburg, and Wayne P. Ott of Orbisonia, Pa. In addition, there are numerous cousins who will deeply miss him.

Nick graduated from Wilson Memorial High School in 2010. He had long dreamed of becoming a long-distance truck driver, so he earned his CDL and began his career by driving semi-trucks and most recently was employed by J.B. Hunt in Staunton. He had traveled throughout the country in his short truck driving career. Nick had recently received a safety award for preventing an accident.

A member of Fishersville United Methodist Church, Nick deeply loved his church family. He was a member of an adult Sunday school class as well as an assistant with the church youth. Nick never met a stranger. Everyone seemed to know Nick. He loved spending time with his family, friends and neighbors. Nick had a passion for cooking, gardening, landscaping and running his chain saw whenever he had a chance. Harbor was his favorite dog and he would spend hours visiting and holding him. Nick could drive anything with a motor, starting with his battery-powered Jeep that he received on his fourth birthday. He loved country music and had begun listening to contemporary spiritual music. Kindness and compassion to others made him so special. His memory will go on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. His laughter and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A public memorial service to celebrate Nicholas' life will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Fishersville United Methodist Church, 1600 Jefferson Highway.

The family wishes to thank all those who knew Nick for their love, support and prayers. Memorial contributions can be made to the F.U.M.C. missions fund in memory of Nick.
