WINDSOR TOWNSHIP – Joy Ann (Smith) Wilson, 85, passed away at her home on Friday, April 19, 2019.

She was born in Youngstown on June 29, 1933, the daughter of Charles “Doc” and Myrtle Joy (Spicer) Smith.

Joy married Frank R. Wilson on June 29, 1952. She was a School Bus Driver at Grand Valley Local Schools and helped her husband operate Camp Whitewood for 33 years. Joy was a member at Windsor UMC, WPPA China Painters Club of Western Pennsylvania, 3C’s China Painters Club, previous 4-H Advisor and Sunday School Teacher. Her most frequent hobby was spreading joy to others anyway she could.

Survivors include her children, Frank C. (Ellen) of Middlefield, Richard K. (June) of Litchfield, Wayne R. (Rachel) Wilson of Windsor, Etta Lynn (Jeff) Atwell of Windsor; brothers George (Janie) Smith of Salem, James (Carol) Smith of Hubbard; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; sister Gladys O’Dea; and grandchildren Julie Renee and Robert Wilson.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at the Paine Funeral Home, Inc., 140 E. Main St. in Orwell, from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will also be held prior to the funeral service at church from 10 to 10:45 a.m.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Laurie Krieg will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the Windsor United Methodist Church, 5161 Rt. 322 in Windsor. Interment will follow at Windsor Township Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Windsor United Methodist Church.
