Rudolph “Rudy” Anthony Blankis, 88, passed away at his home peacefully in his sleep with family present on April 15, 2019.
He was preceded in death by his parents; eight siblings; as well as his loving wife of 61 years, Frances M. Blankis.
He is survived by his three daughters, Theresa (Brian) Duskey, MaryAnn (David) Garcia, and Connie (Odie) Blankis; grand- children, Jennifer (Trish Adkins) and Kimberly Duskey (fiance, John Taggert), Adam and Katie Garcia (fiance, Ian Walker), Kyle (fiance, Sarah) McIntyre, and Kellen (Meghan) McIntyre; great-grand-children, Alison, Rory McIntyre and Mia Leal.
Rudy was born in Salida, Colo., May 27, 1930.
He served in the U.S. Army. He worked at the CF&I Steel Mill in Pueblo, Colo. for 32 years. He was an active member of Elks Lodge, Eagles. American Legion, Foot Printers Association and Senior Walkers. Rudy was an avid Broncos fan and loved to tell jokes.
Rudy will be remembered for always having had a smile.
Rosary will be at 6 p.m., Monday, April 22, 2019, and the funeral Mass at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2019, both at the Shrine of St. Therese Church. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Icthyosis Foundation or hospice of Pueblo.
