Mary is survived by her siblings Lois Tredway (sister), Eddie Albert (brother), her sons Steve McDaniel and Robert Henegar, grandsons Michael Christian and Matthew McDaniel, and daughter-in-law Rebecca Hairston. She is preceded in death by her first husband Charles McDaniel Sr., her son Charles McDaniel Jr., her second husband Clarence Henegar, her sisters Carley Schindler, Frances Reed and Betty Tester.
Mary was born on January 16, 1939, in Bluefield, WV to Edgar and Bernice Albert along with her four sisters and brother. While only having a fifth-grade education, Mary managed to always provide a great home for her children, who she made sure would never want for anything. What Mary lacked in education, she more than made up for with heart and determination. She was one of the kindest, warmhearted, giving people you could ever meet. Mary truly achieved her greatest joys in life making others happy. She was loved and will be missed more than could ever be expressed by words.
A small family viewing is scheduled for Thursday, April 18, 2019 beginning 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Oakey’s North Chapel. There will also be a celebration of Mary’s life on Friday, April 19, 2019 beginning around 6:00 p.m. at her home 636 E. Calhoun St. Salem, VA 24153.
