Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Thelma Irene Baker, at the age of 94, left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her heavenly family, surrounded by her loved ones on April 18, 2019.

Thelma was born in Parshall, on June 23, 1924, to Thomas and Erna (Spitzer) Johnson. Throughout her youth she grew up in various places and attended country schools between Van Hook and Parshall.

On August 24, 1942, she married Everette George Baker, Sr., in Sidney, MT. From there they moved to Belden, ND where they farmed and ranched. In 1948, they moved to Parshall where they made their home and raised their twelve children. She worked various jobs throughout her life in the Parshall area.

Thelma’s pride, joy and love were her family. She was so proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; whom she loved her unconditionally. She always said she had the greatest family anyone could ever have. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and introducing them to old country music. Her enjoyments in life were her family, crossword puzzles, word games and those Sunday rides around the country side.

Thelma was baptized in Christ and was a member of the United Church of Christ. She will always be remembered for her love of family, her wit, and her sense of humor. She was a true treasure and she will truly be missed by everyone who loved her.

Thelma is survived by her children, Ron of Redwood City, CA, Dianna Baker (Harry) of Meridian, ID, Roberta Ranum (Don) of Bismarck, Brad of Parshall, Sheila Steele (Dennis) of Parshall, Wayne of Caldwell, ID, Janet Baker of Stanley, Rod (Lori) of Makoti, Susan Rensch (Erik) of Makoti; grandchildren, Ronda, Jodi and Robin; Lonnie (Jennifer), Clint and Tommi Lynn (Colin); Brian (Misty) and Cory; Jerry (Angie), Brandi and Tessa (Mark); Nick (Jess), Nixie (Brent), Michelle and Makenzie (Travis); Brandon (Marci) and Andrew (Cassie); John, Beau (Tasha) and Trey; Lindsay and Josh; Dustin (Jackie), Mathew (Keegayne) and Brittney (Kyle); 30 great-grandchildren; sons-in-law, Ron Hallingstad of Caldwell, ID and Keith Johnson of Rugby; brother, Tom Johnson (Beverly) of Minneapolis, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
