Son of Lawrence Eugene Harper (1898-1975) and Flora Parr (1900-1997)

Seaman Harper was killed in an accidental plane crash into the Atlantic Ocean on March 1, 1945. His body was recovered on March 29, 1945, 8 miles north of Race Point Lighthouse, MA. He was taken to Naval Air Station Quonset Point, RI and then forwarded to Michigan.

His mother applied for a military marker on July 21, 1947, to be placed at Michigan Memorial Park.
