"Jack", of Newton, passed away Saturday at his residence. Born in Mississippi to William Fred and Ora Lee (Robinson) Alexander he was a longtime resident of Orange. He has lived in Newton for the last eight years, was a member of the Apostolic Tabernacle in Newton and had worked for many years as a security guard for the Burton Shipyard in Bridge City. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Elree Alexander and Howard Alexander. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Alexander; sons, Gamber Friberg and Jackie Lee Alexander, Jr.; daughters, Melinda Alexander and Ora Williams; sisters, Doris Boyle, Evelyn Hughes, Margaret Edwards and Barbara Augustine; brothers, Charles Alexander and Jim Alexander; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
