WHITINSVILLE - John P. Melchiorri, 50, of Whitinsville, formerly of Bellingham and Natick, died Sunday, June 10, 2007, at UMass Medical Center in Worcester.

He was the husband of Robin A. (Arnold) Melchiorri.

A Whitinsville resident for seven years, he was born in Natick, the son of Galiano L. Melchiorri of Natick and Evelyn C. (Kinman) Melchiorri, who died in 2003. He attended the Natick school system, graduating from Natick High School in 1975. Mr. Melchiorri was captain of the football team that gave Natick its first Super Bowl state championship and was named first team All-State halfback.

Mr. Melchiorri was the production manager for I.T.W. Plexus Co. of Danvers.

He enjoyed sports his entire life as an accomplished athlete at Natick High School, participating in men's softball leagues in Natick and Bellingham, and coaching Little League and Youth Football in Bellingham for many years. He was a devoted husband and father who loved his family and numerous friends.

Besides his wife and father, he leaves his children, Jessie, Leah, Abby and Johnny, all of Whitinsville, and Andy of Bellingham; his brothers and sisters, Laura Nobre and her husband, Robert, of Centerville, Robert Melchiorri and his wife, Charlene, of Brecksville, Ohio, Linda Marshall and her husband, Mike, of Marlborough, Stephen Melchiorri and his wife, Pamela, and Richard Melchiorri and his wife, Anna, all of Natick; his mother-in-law, Ann Arnold of Alburg, Vt.; his brother-in-law, Ernie Arnold of Londonderry, N.H.; and many cousins.

A funeral service will be held Thursday morning, June 14, at a time to be announced.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, June 13, from 4 to 8 p.m., at John Everett and Sons Funeral Home (www.everettfuneral.com), 4 Park Street, at Natick Common, Natick.

Instead of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Friends of John Melchiorri, 610 Maple Brook Road, Bellingham, MA 02019.
