Daniel Evander “Dickie” Cooper, Sr., 83, the widower of Judy Mercer Cooper, departed this life, Friday, April 19, 2019 at McLeod Health.

Mr. Cooper was born the son of Asa Gerome Cooper Sr. and Claudia Taylor Cooper on February 22, 1936 in the Trio Community.

He was the owner and operator of Cooper Billiards MFG and was a member of the Billiards Congress of America. He was a member of the Trio United Methodist Church.

Judy and Dickie were married on May 19, 1962 and celebrated 55 years together. Their home was blessed with two children, Daniel “Danny” (Renee) Cooper, Jr. and Julie C. McCants; five grandchildren, Evan (Brittany) Cooper, Nicholas (Whitney Powell) Cooper, Taylor (Ken Morris) Cooper, Lee McCants, and Seth (Wendy) McCants; 10 great-grandchildren, Danielle, Kristen, Jackson, Emalyn, Evy, Paxstyn, Preslee Ann, Palmer Kate, Hadley, Emmette.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Asa Gerome Cooper Jr. and Charles Henry Cooper; and two sisters, Mary Alice Gilliland and Margie Lee Kircher.

Graveside Service will be 11AM, Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Suttons United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Cooper will lie-in-state from 12PM, Monday, April 22, 2019 until 9AM, Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at his home. Family and friends are invited to visit with the Cooper family during this time.
