Janette Marie Martin-Wood passed away March 4th, 2019 of natural causes at her home in Billings.
Jan was born January 11, 1951, the 4th of seven children born to J. L. (Bus) and Marie (Blackwell) Steinborn. She attended Butte schools.
In 1973, Jan married Chris Martin. They had one son, Leo Martin. Jan and Chris owned and operated Room 71 in uptown Butte for several years. They later divorced.
Jan attended school at MSU Billings and after graduation went to work as an AutoCAD specialist at the Conoco refinery in Billings until retirement.
She married the love of her life, Tim Wood, in August, 2002 in Billings. They were happily married until Tim’s passing in 2013.
Jan enjoyed gardening, reading, travelling, and visiting family with Tim. Her grandchildren, Jonas and Cassidy, were the absolute joy and light in her life.
Jan is survived by her son, Leo (Shannon) Martin and grandchildren, Jonas and Cassidy Martin all of Seattle; stepsons , Chris Martin of Lincoln, NE and his son; Kevin Martin of Portland, OR and his daughter; Mark (Carrie) Martin of Colorado Springs, CO and their three children; brothers: Leonard (Sue) Steinborn of Adrian MI, and Jim (Carol) Steinborn of Butte; sisters: Rita McGarry of Butte, Cecelia Wyman (Tom Miller) of Billings, and Phyllis (Michael) King of Lubbock, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and brother Joe Steinborn.
