MUNCIE - Frances Marie (McSherry) Finney Meyer, 85, died Monday morning, June 11th, 2007, in Liberty Village Health Care where she had been for the past nine months following a extended illness.

She was born in Gaston, July 28, 1921, the daughter of Vernie and Daisy Lovett McSherry, attended Gaston schools, and spent most of her life in this area.

Mrs. Meyer was a homemaker and a member of Riverview Church of the Nazarene where she served as pianist and organist for many years. In times past, she had been missionary president, Sunday school teacher, and sang in the church choir.

Her hobbies included crocheting and sewing. She made her own clothing and delighted the hearts of her grandchildren with all the clothes and doll clothes she made for them.

Surviving are her son, Larry Finney (wife, Diane) and her daughter, Carolyn Nunley (husband, Howard) all of Muncie; her sister, Dorothy Bailey, Portland; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Pleasant Finney in 1956; her second husband, Lloyd Howard Meyer in 1994; a son; 2 brothers; and a sister.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2007 in Riverview Church of the Nazarene, 2600 E. Willard St.

Burial will follow in Tomlinson Cemetery.

Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday or at the church one half hour prior to service time on Friday.

Frances was married to Wayne Ford Gibson. The marriage ended in divorce. A child, Herman Leroy Gibson was born in 1943 and died in 1945. He is buried in Park Cemetery near Fairmount, Indiana.
