Ricky Allen, age 70 of Carrollton, passed away April 18, 2019. He was born June 11, 1948 in Greensville, South Carolina, son of the late Louie D. Allen and the late Mary Phillips Granger Allen. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He was the owner and operator of Allen’s Automotive and Alignment Inc for 29 years in Carrollton, Georgia. He was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church in Roopville, Georgia and a 33rd Degree Mason and member of Carroll Masonic and Buck Creek Lodges. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a nephew, Seth Scales. He is survived by his loving wife, Joy Newsome Allen of Carrollton; two daughters, Nikki (Will) Taylor of Carrollton, and Jill (Paul) Carter of Bremen; grandson, Alex Cole; and sisters, Lois Allen Turner, Sherry Allen Scales, and Jennie Allen; brother, Tom Allen. Funeral Service will be conducted Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 11:00 AM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Tony Morris and Rev. Kevin Geter officiating. Interment will follow in Abilene Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers, Paul Carter, Alex Cole, Tommy Cook, Will Taylor, David Bearden, Eric Ballard, Steve Thornton, and Ricky Lea. The American Legion Post 143 will provide military honors and the Carroll Masonic Lodge will perform Masonic Rites.
