Martha Stancill St.George of Matthews passed away peacefully on September 24, 2017. She was born in Charlotte on March 13, 1919 to Lucia McCormick Stancill and J. Clyde Stancill. She was graduated from Central High School and attended Woman's College, now UNC-Greensboro. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William M. St.George and her sister Selwyn Stancill Myers. Survivors include her son, William M. St.George II and wife, Peggy St.George of Charlotte, and daughter, Sandra St.George Hill and husband, William R. Hill of Indian Land, SC. Also surviving are grandchildren William Myers St.George III of Smyrna, GA; Shannon St.George Pickerel and husband, Robert S. Pickerel of Milton, GA; Stuart Worth St.George of Atlanta, GA and Jennifer S. Hill Wyatt and husband, Adam C. Wyatt of Wake Forest, NC and Jason M. Hill of Charlotte. Great-grandchildren are Connor and McKenzie Pickerel; Emma, Alex and Millie Wyatt. Also surviving are a dear niece, Selwyn Myers Smith, her son, Dr. Clifton C. Smith and wife, Nicole Price Smith and their daughters, Lexy and Lara all of Charlotte. The family would like to offer sincere thanks to the entire staff of WillowBrook Court at Plantation Estates for their love and care of Mrs. St.George. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, September 30th at 2:30 p.m. at Matthews Presbyterian Church, 207 West John Street, Matthews, NC 28105. Memorials can be made to the church.
