Jack Ross, age 90, of Paradise, passed away at home on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, one day before celebrating his 66th wedding anniversary with his wife Arlene Keene Ross. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Earl and Irene Stoner Ross.

He was a graduate of Quarryville High School Class of 1947. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Jack was an active member of Georgetown United Methodist Church and the church’s cemetery association.

He was a carpenter for Wickersham Construction for 28 years retiring in 1993. He enjoyed gardening, watching birds, bowling, traveling, carpentry and being a handyman. He was a member of the Gap VFW and American Legion.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 sons: Jeffrey J. husband of Debbie Bookheimer Ross of Harleysville, James J. husband of Karen Dippner Ross of Strasburg, Jeri K. husband of Molly Naples Ross of Willow Street, 6 grandchildren, and 3 siblings: Sue wife of George Welk of Paradise, Donald Ross of Quarryville, and Florence Testerman of Peach Bottom.

He was preceded in death by 8 siblings: Richard, Galen, Charles, Robert, Mary Louise and Jean Ross, Olive Ressel, Anna Rineer.

Funeral service will take place at Georgetown United Methodist Church, 1070 Georgetown Road, Paradise on Tuesday, April 23, at 11 a.m. with a viewing Monday at the church from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Linda Harnish and Pastor Dennis Keene will be officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jack’s memory to Georgetown United Methodist Church, PO Box 76, Bart, PA 17503-0076 or to Hospice and Community Care, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
