Doris graduated from Eustis High School in 1949. During high school, she participated in 4-H as well as the Nebraska State Fair with her steers and demonstrations. She and her lifelong sweetheart met in high school and began their 63 year marriage in 1953. Both attended and graduated from University of Nebraska in Lincoln where Doris received her Bachelor of Science degree in Vocational Home Economics. They moved to Denver in the late 1950’s and to Fort Lupton in 1970. In that same year she received her Master of Arts Degree from UNC. Doris enjoyed baking and sewing for her family. She entered various baking contests and won a Pillsbury award for her brownie recipe. She was a Sunday school teacher, 4-H Leader, sewing judge and “Make-It-With-Wool” competitor. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Fort Lupton and loved caring for and being with her grandchildren, sewing, quilting and baking. She retired from teaching vocational sewing at Emily Griffith Opportunity School in 1997. During her tenure she was proud to receive the Vocational Teacher of the Year award. After retirement, Doris and Jon enjoyed travel, especially their trips to Hawaii. Survivors included twin sister Dora Livingston of Bridgeport, NE; children Scott (Kathy) Frazier, Jon (Sherrie) Frazier and Brenda McCutchan (David Moore); and 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Preceded by daughter Dori Brooks, daughter-in-law Sharon Frazier and grandson Kyle Standeford. Services held April 18th at First United Methodist Church in Fort Lupton.
