From "Away at War" by Nick K. Adams (great-great-grandson of Corporal David Brainard Griffin), "Edgar Lincoln, last in this branch of the family bearing the Griffin name, tragically died after ingesting poison hemlock in 1870 at the tender age of nine. He is buried between his mother and his father's military memorial marker."
Son of David Brainard Griffin & Philinda Minerva Griffin; they shared the "...same Griffin name through a common descent from their great-grandparents Samuel Griffing and Mercy Bailey."

According to Mr. Adams book, Edgar Lincoln Griffin's siblings:
Alice Jane Griffin (born 1854 in Illinois) married Manuel Beardsley Hutcheson; childless she died a widow in 1928 and is buried next to her husband.

Ida May Griffin (born 1856 in Iowa) married Jacob LeFevre in 1880. She lived in Granger, Washington and died in 1943. One of Ida May's five sons is Mr. Adams maternal grandfather.
