Wallace “Walt” B. Williams, age 90 of the town of Manchester, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 15, 2019 at the Markesan Resident Home.

Visitation for Walt will be held on Monday, April 22, 2019 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, W3377 Main St., Manchester from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Michael Plagenz officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Maria Cemetery, town of Manchester.

Walt was born on May 26, 1928 in the town of Westford to Bruce and Mabel (Krause) Williams. He graduated from Randolph High School, and on February 18, 1951 he was united in marriage to Esther Oberg in Milwaukee. Throughout his life he served on several area board of directors including: Green Lake County Board of Supervisors, Town of Manchester where he served as Chairman, Ambulance and Fire Board, Lake Maria Cemetery and South Central Mutual Insurance. He was also a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Manchester, where he served on the church council.

Walt was an extremely hard-working man. He treasured his family farm and valued a strong work ethic in himself and others. He had a wicked sense of humor and was very smart, wise and logical. He wasn't overly talkative, but when he spoke, you wanted to hear what he said. His calm demeanor and common-sense attitude were respected and adored. He relished in every opportunity he had to spend time with his family, play cards and watch the Indy 500.

Walt is survived by his children, Roy (Shirley) Williams of Waupun and Barbara (Larry) Schultz of Markesan; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Warren (Nancy) Williams of Beaver Dam; sister, Betty Swenson of Fond du Lac and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Esther in 2002; several brothers and sisters-in-law; grandson-in-law, Matt Huelsman and other relatives.
