Frances L. (Jacobs) Holland, 101 of Watertown passed away peacefully on April 15, 2019. She lead a life of strength, independence, compassion and faith.Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Hazel Jacobs of Jamaica Plain.She was the wife of C. Francis "Frank" Holland who died on June 25, 1965.A graduate of Jamaica Plain High School and Boston Business School, she worked for various companies, including the Division of State Colleges, before retiring in 1980 from Boston State College where she was the Head Administrative Assistant.She was an avid reader and fan of the Boston Bruins. She loved attending the theater and symphony. Travel was a passion especially to the warm blue waters of the Caribbean Islands. She attributed her longevity to swimming at least twice a week at Bentley University and eating whatever she desired.She is survived by her daughters: Elizabeth Holland of Edwards CO., Patricia Peavey & her husband Paul of Pepperell and sons: Charles Holland of Killington VT and Dennis Holland of Watertown as well as her daughter in law, Heather Holland of Denver CO.She was the loving grandmother to Lauren Cremonese (Travis), Brian Shaeffer (Kristen), Andrew Holland (Amanda), and Lindsay Boeger (Reed) all of Colorado as well as four great grandchildren.Frances was the sister of the late George, Robert & Frank Jacobs and Grace Plummer.The family extends special thanks to the staff of Langdon Place of Nashua for their care, love and support these past few years.Funeral Service in the Plymouth Congregational Church, 582 Pleasant St. Belmont on Saturday April 27, 2019 at 10 A.M.Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watertown.Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours in the Stanton Funeral Home 786 Mt. Auburn St. (Rt16) Watertown on Friday April 26th from 3-7 P.M.In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory to the Plymouth Congregational Church would be appreciated.
