Mary Elizabeth Bryant was born in Columbia County, Florida, USA on June 15th 1856. She was the daughter of Ezekiel Bryant and Lousia F Cook Bryant. She married Peter H Clements/Clemmons about 1872. They had seven children together: Henry Edward Clemmons, Lena Clemmons, Ezekial Clemmons, Infant Son Clemmons, Beatrice Arela Clemmons Mizell, Iona Sarepta Clemmons Bryant, and Jason A Clemmons.

She disappeared from written records after the birth of her last child, Jason, in 1886. When she exactly died is unknown. It was some time between 1886 and 1895. Peter would go on to marry to Mary Elizabeth Jones in 1895 who helped raise his children, and they settled in Socrum, Florida to be near Peter's daughters Beatrice and Iona. Peter and Mary E Jones are both buried in Socrum. (Note: There is often confusion between the two Marys.)
