Henry David Frazier was born on May 17, 1858 in Ashland City, Tennessee, the son of James Frazier (ca 1815- ) and Ann Jane (Owens) Frazier (ca 1835- ).

He was married about 1885 to Sarah James Dowdy (1864–1951), the daughter of William Dowdy and Patricia Ann (Hudson) Dowdy.

A retired farmer living at 404 Taylor Street in Nashville, he was 59 years old and married when he died at home of mitral stenosis on August 17, 1917. Burial was the next day in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville.
