Robert Henry “Bob” Bateman, Sr., 72, of Augusta, WV, died on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at his home while surrounded by his family.
Bob was born on September 11, 1946 in Baltimore, MD, a son of the late John Henry Bateman and Ruth Estelle Montley Bateman. He owned and operated the Abess Company, Inc. in Glen Bernie, MD. Bob attended the Central United Methodist Church located in Loom, WV, was a lifetime member of the NRA, was an avid nature lover where he enjoyed watching his humming birds and deer.
Bob married Sandra Jacky Bateman on September 20, 2000 in Las Vegas, NV.
Surviving with his wife of nearly 19 years is his son: Brian Scott Bateman and his wife Rebecca of Glenn Bernie, MD; his brothers: George & Calvin Bateman; a sister: Victoria Libald; three grandsons: Michael Wells, Tim & Dylan Phipps; two granddaughters: Trisha Phipps and Brittany Lalonde and the mother of his children: Alice Bateman.
He is preceded in death his son: Robert H. “Bobby” Bateman, Jr.; his daughter: Kelly Jean Bateman Padinha; his grandson: Anthony Padinha and two brothers: William and John Bateman.
A funeral service will be held at the Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, April 22, 2019 at 1 PM. Officiating will be Pastor Alanna McGuinn. Interment will follow in the Central United Methodist Church Cemetery.
