Mr. Douglas Wayne Howell , 74, passed away April 16, 2019 at his home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 AM Friday, April 19, 2019 at Serenity Fu- neral Home Chapel with interment in Springhill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday, April 18, 2019 from 5-7 PM at Serenity Funeral Home. The pallbearers serving will be Kenny Caton, Jason Vales, Jesse Jackson, Clinton Hamm, Travis Johnson and Ben Redding. Mr. Howell was a life long resident of Mobile where he was a 1963 graduate of Baker High School. He worked as an insulator for Asbestos Workers Local #55 for 26 years and later worked for Dickson Campers for 15 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed senior dancing. He could build and work on anything and kept busy in the woodpile and on the farm. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmo and Annie Lou Howell and a sister, Jean Gaston. Mr. Howell is survived by his wife of 47 years, Daisy Moss Howell; son, Harlan Howell; daughters, Lana Howell Soutullo (Ervin) and Tracy Howell Hill; step daughters, Connie McDonald and Christine Cumbie (Steve); sisters, Mary Smith and Annel Gaston; grandchildren, Morgan Davis (Brandon), Clayton Soutullo (Kelsi), Rachel Phelps (Justin), Dakota Howell, Lilly Cumbie and Makenzie Howell; great grandchildren, Easton Davis and Noah Davis, many nieces, nephews, family and friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
