Joseph and Hester were married in Tenn. and had five children born in Tenn. They moved to Texas just after Texas became a state. Rusk County was their first stopping place. Farming a plot of land just south of Henderson, Tex. Their they had four more children before moving to Dallas County. Joseph and Hester settled in southern Dallas Co. just north of the city of Lancaster. Here they had seven more children born to them. Their first three children married spouses from the Rusk Co. area.
The remaining thirteen children married their spouses from the Dallas County, Texas area.
