Lynn R. Williams (also known as Lew Burdette), 77, of Shickshinny died Saturday morning, April 13, 2019, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, where he had been a patient.
Born May 14, 1941, in Shickshinny, he was a son of the late Russell Ted and Reta (McDaniels) Williams.
He graduated from Northwest Area High School.
He worked in management at Luzerne Outerwear, Ship ’n Shore, Leslie Fay Companies, and Ashland Shirt Company.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Shickshinny.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Darren Williams, and a brother, Larry Gordon Williams.
Surviving are his wife, the former Rosalie Young, to whom he was married Sept. 30, 1961; a son, Shawn Williams, at home; a daughter, Raeann Lynn Cumberland, Plymouth; two grandchildren, Shane and Shauna Williams; and two great-grandchildren, Shayla and Addison Williams.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 18, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the Mayo Funeral Home Inc., 77 N. Main St., Shickshinny, with his pastor, the Rev. James Parks, officiating. Burial will be in Sorber Cemetery, Reyburn. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
