at the age of 85. Bobby grew up in Wynnewood and moved away at the age of 12, he returned to Wynnewood about 16 years ago and spent the remainder of his life in Wynnewood. On February 16, 1957 he married Janise Carolyn McBride in Shawnee, OK and they spent their lives together until her passing. Bobby worked for General Motors as a Tool and Dye Maker. Bobby enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with family. He always had a project going.
Bobby was preceded in death by his wife Janice Carolyn Gates, and his parents Gracie Viola (Nelms) and Wilbert Gates.
He is survived by his daughter - Nona Kay Gates of Moore, OK; Son - Paul David Gates and wife Lisa R. of Newcastle, OK; 4 grandchildren - Angela Etheridge and husband Chris, Brian Mowles and wife Angela, Preston Gates and wife Brittany, Brandon Gates and wife Angela, 6 great grandchildren, 4 sisters - Connie Dotson of Wynnewood, Betty Sue Leeman of Chelsea, Michigan, Patsy Dobbins of Wynnewood, and Vicky Eastwood of Wynnewood.
Services for Bobby will be held on Tuesday April 16, 2019 at DeArman Funeral Chapel in Wynnewood, OK with Rev. Jarrod Kendall officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood, OK. Visitation will be held on Monday April 15, 2019 from 4 to 7 PM at DeArman Funeral Home of Wynnewood. Services under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home of Wynnewood.
