Earl A. Young, 88, of Salem, Va., passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018.
He worked faithfully as a brick mason for the family business, Masonry Contractors, Inc, throughout his professional life. Earl took pride in working on building projects all over the greater Roanoke valley.
He was preceded in death by his son, David Wayne Young in 1976; his parents, C.E. Young and Virginia Elliot Young; and two brothers, Rudy Kent Young and Chester P. Young.
Earl is survived by his wife of 67 years, Phyllis J. Young; son, Butch Young (Kathy); two grandchildren, Brian Young (Kristina) and Emily Sayers (Mike); two great-grandchildren, Reagan Young and Trenton Sayers; two sisters-in-law, Pat Young and Clara Young; special friend, Peggy; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Oakey’s North Chapel on Friday, November 9, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at Oakey’s North Chapel with Pastor Mark Manning officiating.
