In the mid 1880's the family are in LaFayette, Gratiot County, Michigan. Erastus owned a saw and store mill there in 1889.
Somehow, Armenia ended up living with their son, Albert in New York where she died in 1901.
Erastus traveled to Alabama preaching, working in a saw mill, and looking for land to buy to farm. He wrote his son, Orin, a letter about searching for the land and how good it was down there. He bought land in Jackson County, Alabama on Sept. 20, 1907. He sold it in 1908. I have found him in the 1910 federal census in Paint Rock, Marshall County, Alabama. His age of 76.
I have a picture in my possession of him and a brother and 2 sisters dated 1912. I do not know where it was taken. His age would be 78.
