HESS, Paul Francis 78, of Springfield, passed to eternal life on Aug.16, 2017. He was born Oct. 13, 1938 in Detroit, Mich., the son of the late Douglas and Emma (MacDonald) Hess. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Bernardine (LaBrash) Hess; sons, David Hess, Sr. (Denise) of GA, and Ret. Colonel James Hess (Tricia) of NY; seven grandchildren, Amber Hess, David Hess, Jr. (Kelly), Christopher Hess, Zachary Durnan, Molly Hess, Nicholas Hess, Rebecca Hess; two great-grandchildren, Theodore and Shepherd Hess; two sisters, Mary and Judith Hess; two brothers, Brian (Carol) and Douglas (Judy) Hess; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death, son, Paul, Jr. and daughter, Carolyn Hess; sister, Pat Burton. Paul was devoted to his family and was faithful in his love and service to Our Lord, Jesus Christ. Paul graduated from Univ. of Detroit and served in the US Army, Intelligence Agency. He owned Rotex Silver Recovery Co., where he designed electrolytic silver recovery equipment and shipped them worldwide for 23 years. He retired in 2011. We owe much gratitude to Crossroads Hospice for their excellent care. Paul donated his body to Boonshoft Sch.of Med., Wright State Univ. His cremains will be entered at St. Bernard Columbarium.
