She was born June 26, 1957 in Ottumwa to Kenneth "Leon" and Dorothy A. Hiatt Wiseman. She married James Steele on December 10, 1977.
Diane was a 1976 graduate of Ottumwa High School and attended Indian Hills Community College. She had been employed at laundromats in Ottumwa and had been employed at Crest Services for the past 2 years.
Diane was a member of Pennsylvania Ave. Free Methodist Church. She had always been involved with her kids and grandkids and their friends called her "Mom" and "Grandma". She enjoyed doing crafts.
Surviving is her husband, Jim; two daughters, Tanya Steele and Kayleen (Brandon) Dunning, both of Ottumwa; 4 grandchildren, Korbin, Grantley, Lance and Eliana Dunning; others she had helped take in and raise, Jobie Lowe and his daughter, Jenna Lowe, Joshua Felkins and his daughter, Maddy; 5 brothers, Kenny (Susie) Wiseman, Raymond (Barbie) Wiseman, Gary Wiseman, Larry Wiseman and Richard Wiseman all of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Her body has been cremated.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Pennsylvania Ave. Free Methodist Church with Pastor Tim Ward officiating.
The family will be present one hour prior to the service to greet friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice serving Davis and Wapello Counties, 927 Pennsylvania Ave., Ottumwa, IA 52501.
