Katie was born in Belleville, Illinois to James and Anna (Steele) Patton on August 22, 1926. She later married Robert C. Cook. Katie worked as a waitress at the Town and Country Restaurant and was of the Methodist faith. Katie was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary and was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed hunting mushrooms, fishing, traveling, listening to music and her dog Ruby.
Katie is survived by a son, a daughter and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Ricky Cook, sister Bessie Foertsch, and grandson Ryan Hood.
