Dan Hilton “Meaty” Gardner, 76, of Murray, Kentucky, died Friday, April 12, 2019, at his home.
He was born Dec. 3, 1942, in Murray, Kentucky, to Hill Gardner and Bernice Farley Gardner.
Her retired from Carquest Auto Parts as the Dupont outside sales representative. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church and Murray Masonic Lodge, #105, F & AM.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Fred Gardner, and one dear aunt, Josephine Hannah.
Mr. Gardner is survived by his wife, Pamela Gardner, whom he married June 27, 1987; two sons, Shannon Gardner and wife Kelly of Paris, Tennessee, and Shawn Gardner and wife Cindy of Murrayy; one stepson, Jeff Rodgers of Murray; three grandchildren, Whitney Gardner and Benjamin Gardner, both of Murray and Logan Gardner of Ashland, Missouri; and two stepgrandchildren, Allison Clinger of Benton and Alec Rodgers of Almo.
He will be missed by “The Table of Knowledge Gang,” countless friends, and DC and Patches, who will keep his bed and chair warm.
The funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Brett Miles officiating. Burial will follow in Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at the funeral home, with a Masonic service at 6 p.m.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Northside Baptist Church Building Fund, 884 Radio Road, Almo, KY 42020, or to the Murray Masonic Lodge, #105 F.& AM, 2036 KY121 North, Murray, KY 42071.
