Helen H. Gardner, 90, of Boggstown, died Saturday April 13, 2019, at Franciscan Health Indianapolis.

Born May 23, 1928, in Sugar Creek Township, she was the daughter of Harry H. Holton and Loma E.(Hoop) Holton. She married George D. Gardner on August 12, 1950, and he preceded her in death on November 4, 2007.

Survivors include one son, Kenneth D.(Ann)Gardner; one daughter, D. Gaye(Larry)Mullins of Celina, TN; three grandchildren, Donald W.(Alicia)Garver, Michael T. Gardner, and Michele L. Gardner; and three great-granddaughters, Lucille Hope Garver, Savannah A. Draher, and Caroline L. Draher.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Carolyn Livingston.

Mrs. Gardner, a lifelong Shelby County resident, farmed with her husband and was a tax preparer for several years. She graduated from Boggstown High School and attended Indiana University. She was a member of the Boggstown Presbyterian Church and the Joseph Boggs Society for Historical Preservation.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 in the Boggstown Cemetery in Boggstown. No visitation will be observed. Freeman Family Funeral Homes, 819 S. Harrison St. Shelbyville, IN, is handling the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boggstown Cemetery Association, 6296 W 400 N Fairland, IN 46126; Boggstown Presbyterian Church, 2488 N Sand Creek Rd Boggstown, IN 46110; or Joseph Boggs Society for Historical Preservation, 2616 N Sand Creek Rd Boggstown, IN 46110.
