Carl Ray Bailey, 84, passed peacefully from this life through the veil on April 12, 2019 at his home in Aurora after a valiant fight with cancer. He was born on September 24, 1934 to Thomas Rufus and Mable LaVaun Osborn Bailey in Roberts, Idaho. Carl married the love of his life, Jane Ann Crane on April 9, 1954 in Riverton, Utah. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on August 28, 1958.

Dad loved his job. He drove trucks picking up raw milk from many dairy farms and occasionally hauled cattle. He loved being on the road seeing new places and making friends with the farmers. He retired in 1996 after having both knees replaced.

Carl was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he spent many years working in the Scouting program. He also spent many years coaching Little League Baseball in Sandy, Utah, where both sons played. He was a member of the Fishlake chapter of the Old Time Fiddlers and Richfield Lions Club. He had a love of anything with motors especially cars and trucks. He loved camping, fishing, and in his younger years, waterskiing. He loved riding 4-wheelers and exploring new places and was a member of the Richfield Jamboree where he helped with guided rides.

He loved meeting new people and after you met Carl you were immediately considered his friend. He loved people and visiting with anyone who would take the time to sit and visit.

In his biography he wrote, "My boys are the light of my life and my daughter is the apple of my eye."

Carl is survived by his devoted wife, Jane; daughter: Carol Ann (Frank) Lathrop; sons: Duane (Kathy) Bailey, Bryan (Kathy) Bailey; 9 grandchildren and their spouses; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers: James (Judy) Bailey, Bruce (Joyce) Bailey; half-brother, Kenneth Bailey.

Preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Brent Smith; a granddaughter-in-law; as well as a half-brother and half-sister.

A special thank you to Kristen Gurney and the hospice team for the amazing care they gave our dad. We love and appreciate you more than you will ever know.
