Lois Jean Simpson, age 83, of Ainsworth, Iowa, died Friday, April 12, 2019, in Camanche, Iowa, following a short illness.

Celebration of life services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at the Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona, Iowa, with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. The family will be present to receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington. Lois was born December 30, 1935, in Washington County, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd Earnest and Ruth Clueta (Long) Ayers. She graduated from Washington High School in 1953. Lois was united in marriage to Raymond Simpson on December 30, 1954, in Davenport, Iowa.

Lois was born and raised in Washington County and moved to Davenport following her marriage. She later lived in Blue Grass and most recently lived in Ainsworth. She attended the Ainsworth Community Church and had previously attended the Community Fellowship Church in Blue Grass. Lois enjoyed reading, attending Central Park Community Center and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Dahl of Davenport, Iowa; daughter, Sheila Winslow and husband Gary of Camanche, Iowa; four grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brother, Donald Ayers of Pocahontas, Iowa; sister-in-law, Sandy Ayers of Washington, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond in 2013; son-in-law, Bruce Dahl; brother, Robert Ayers and sister-in-law, Lavelda Ayers.
