Our beloved beautiful mom, grandma, great-grandma, and sister, Carol Mae (Gayler) Chapman, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 10, 2019 at The Center at Northridge Rehabilitation in Westminster, Colorado.
Carol was born to Richard Albert Gayler and Martha Barger on April 9, 1934 in Salt Lake City. Carol married David Chapman on October 23, 1953 in Salt Lake City.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband, David L Chapman, Sr.; and son, David L. Jr. She is survived by her children, Gerald (Janine) Chapman of Erie, Colorado; Larry Chapman of St. George; Denise Fox of St. George; and Shari Fernelius of West Valley City; brother, Dick (Danna) Gayler of Layton; fourteen grandchildren; and thirty-nine great-grandchildren. She had a genuine one-of-a-kind relationship with those she loved. Her beautiful spirit always showed through no matter what she was involved in. She loved playing bingo with her friends from Harmony Gardens. She is beloved and will be terribly missed.
A viewing will be held on Monday, April 15, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road (1700 West). Funeral services will be held at the same location on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 1:00 p.m., with a viewing prior to the services from 12:00-12:45 p.m.
Interment will follow at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road (1700 West).
