Gregory Todd Cooper, age 47 of Roanoke and Franklin County passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia, of heart complications. Todd was born March 27, 1966, in Huntington, WV, a son of Harry and Rosalie Cooper of Rocky Mount. Todd graduated from Franklin County High School and DeVry Institute of Technology in Atlanta, where he graduated with honors. He was the drummer for the band, The WORX, for 17 years and was employed by Blackwater Recording Studios. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold & Marjorie Madison, Earl & Faye Cooper, both of WV. He is survived by his parents; brother, Randy (Margie) Cooper; sister, Becky (Mark) Walker; nephew, Josh Cooper; niece, Callie Cooper; and fiancé, Susan Gibson, to whom we deeply appreciate for all of the care and love that she gave to him; and numerous other family members and friends that were always there for him. A Celebration of Todd’s Life will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2014 with Minister Matthew Ricks officiating. It was his wishes to be cremated. His family will receive friends on Sunday prior to the service from 1 – 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
