Gordon graduated from Ellinwood High School in 1961, later graduating from Kansas State University in 1965. He was honorably discharged as a Lieutenant from the Navy. He then moved to Chicago where he worked as the Editor of the 4-H Magazine. He was also a Free-Lance Photographer. He retired from Columbia University in Chicago, Ill. Survivors include sisters, Bernadine and Don Overman, Scottsbluff, Neb., and Corrine Batchman, Ellinwood, Ks brothers, Jerome & Elvera Ewald, Wichita, KS, Marvin & Margie Bieberle, Great Bend, KS, Ron & Paula Bieberle, Ellinwood, KS and Floyd & Peggy Bieberle, Derby, KS Additional survivors include sister-in-law Mary Bieberle Apel, Great Bend, KS and Shirley Ewald, Canby, OR and many treasured nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceding him in death was a sister, Joyce and brother-in-law Dan Leiker, Midland, TX, brothers Robert Ewald, Billings Mo, Norbert Bieberle, Great Bend, KS and brother-in-law Ron Batchman, Ellinwood, KS. Memorial services were 10:30 am March 9, 2019 at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood, Ks. Inurnment with military honors followed at Lakin-Comanche district Cemetery in Ellinwood, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorials were suggested to Sts Peter & Paul Heritage Association, Ellinwood, KS or Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly Chicago Chapter in care of Minnis Chapel P.O. box 246, Ellenwood, KS 67526.
