Abigail was the youngest child and daughter of Henry Shaw and Abigail Kinney Shaw. She was married 3 times, but had no offspring of record with any of her husbands.

She married 1st on 12 July 1851, James Rockwell the son of Joseph Rockwell and Maria Dickinson. In the 1861 census they are found living in Northampton with 3 of James' nieces and 1 nephew, as well as a boarder named Dennis Hale, who within 6-7 years would become Abigail's 3rd husband.

After Joseph died on 4 Jan 1865 in Northampton, Abigail married on 7 Apr 1866, Deacon Asa Robinson, a recent widower who's wife Elizabeth Richardson had died the previous 27th July 1865. The marriage between Abigail and Asa was very short lived, as Asa married a 3rd wife, Hannah Gray, on an unknown date presumably in 1866 as well, as Asa and Hannah's 1st child together, Elsmore Franklin Robinson, was conceived circa Aug/Sept 1866, only 4 to 5 months after Asa's marriage to Abigail.

Abigail's marriage date to her 3rd husband Dennis Hale has not been found, but had taken place before they are both found together and married in the 1870 US census in Lyndon, Caribou ME. However, in the 1900 US census, Abigail states that she emigrated to Maine in 1865 and she and Dennis had been married in 1863.

Abigail's DC only states that she died in Caribou, and was buried in Caribou, the particular cemetery not named. However she clearly would have been buried next to Dennis who has a large headstone with his dates on it, but as Abigail was childless, clearly there were no survivors to have her memorialized on the same stone.
