Judy Lynn Hoover, 72 years young, of Pampa, passed away Friday, April 12, 2019 in Pampa. She made her debut to this life on March 21, 1947 to Joe and Ruth Walker in Hillsboro, Texas.
Judy was baptized as a young girl in the Nazarene Church and loved the Lord. She was a strong, outspoken, opinionated woman who never held back what was on her mind or sugar coated what she wanted to say or thought of anyone. The word that could best describe her is… well you get it. However, underneath the hard exterior, lay the heart of the most kind and caring woman. Judy moved to Pampa in 1969 and worked for Pampa Communication Answering Service for 20 years. She was married a “few” times and stated she was going to continue to do it until she got it right. She struck gold when she married Lee Hoover on January 7, 1994 and loved every minute of the 11 ½ happy years she spent with him until his death on August 26, 2005.
Judy was the oldest and wisest of two children. She adored and thought the world of her young and stubborn brother, Gary. She took pride in her small family and would move heaven and earth for her two nieces. Meanwhile, her cousins, Miles and Kile, lovingly nicknamed her “Dookie” and her great nieces and nephews, referred to her as “Judy, Judy with a big booty”. Despite the nicknames, she spent many weekends with them playing, singing, dancing and watching scary movies. Judy had a special place in her heart for her brother’s better half, LaGwenda Walker, to whom she had the utmost love and respect for. While Judy had a deep love for everyone in her family, the one member that took precedence over all of them was her late and overweight Weinie dog, Fred (yes, we’re including her dog in her obituary). She adored and spoiled him (obviously) every chance she got and we can guarantee that pudgy, little dog was awaiting her at Heaven’s Gates when she went home. Judy’s spunk and firecracker attitude will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her favorite cousin, B.B. White.
Those left behind to cherish a lifetime of laughter and memories are her brother, Gary Walker and wife LaGwenda; two nieces, Brandi Brewer, Cari Carillo and husband Jerry; three great-nieces, Calli, Raeli, Emori; one great-nephew, Corbin and one great-great nephew Rheydin.
The family would like to extend its eternal love and gratitude to Barbara and Sissy with Interim Hospice as well as Andrea and the staff at The Pampa Nursing Center for the loving care they showed Judy over the last several months.
Celebration of Life Memorial Services are scheduled for 2pm on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at the Memory Gardens Mausoleum officiated by her cousin, Kile Bateman. The family has entrusted the cremation care of their precious Judy to Winegeart Funeral Home.
