Polly, born Mary Woodbury, was the daughter of Benajah Woodbury (d. 1802 at Royalston, MA) and Abigail Stockwell (d. about 1797). Her parents married on August 15, 1768 (recorded in both Athol, MA and Royalston, MA) and had five children. Their burial locations are currently unknown.
Miss Knowlton was first married to Ezekiel Cook at Royalston on October 27, 1803.
He died at age 39 in 1818. Secondly, Rev. Preserved Smith married Polly to Elias Knowlton on May 2, 1824 at Warwick.
She passed away on what would have been her 60th wedding anniversary with Mr. Cook.
