Phyllis M. Bond of Salisbury Mills, NY entered into rest on March 31, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital.
Phyllis was the daughter of Urban G. and Sylvia E. Hall Payne. She was born in Bridgetown, Barbados. She spent 94 years surrounded by a large and loving family. Phyllis is remembered for her unconditional love and intellectualism. In 1939 she graduated Hunter College with a degree in French and Spanish; words were not only a field of study, but an active source of pleasure and enjoyment. Phyllis was a purchasing agent for New York City.
Phyllis is survived by her only daughter, Elena Bond Knowles: three grandchildren: Lindsay, Lauren and Christina Knowles: two sisters: Consuelo and Yvonne; brother, Kenneth and his wife, Sybil, and an array of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday, April 7th with a service following at 11 a.m. at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Washingtonville Presbyterian Cemetery, Washingtonville, NY. Arrangements under the care of Thomas A. Murray of the David T.
